Transcript: Introduction from the Pro-Vice-Chancellor, Education
An introduction to students from Professor Martin Williams, Pro-Vice-Chancellor (Education).
As we start a new Academic Year it's great to welcome all our new students and to welcome back our continuing students.
I'm Martin Williams I'm the Pro-Vice-Chancellor for education at the University.
Students are at the heart of everything we do at the University we aim to offer an education that's second to none. We combine tradition and innovation to support you both academically and personally.
In my role I aim to ensure that our admissions and assessment processes are both fair and rigorous, and that the teaching we offer to students is stimulating and intellectually stretching.
But of course student life goes beyond just the academic part, and I also want to make sure that our students feel supported, and feel at home, and part of a welcoming community while they're at Oxford.
So from our unique personalised teaching methods, our academic support, our unparalleled libraries, our wellbeing support, we want to make sure that you have everything you need at
your disposal to really thrive while you're with us.
Oxford is a really fantastic place to live and study, there's so much going on both intellectually and socially, and I really hope that you use your time here to get the most out of what the University and the city have to offer.
