Summer in Oxford
Thank you to all our students for your commitment and contribution to Oxford this year. The Student News email will return in 0th Week of Michaelmas term but you can follow @OxUniStudents before then. Good luck to those who are leaving us and we look forward to welcoming returning students back in the autumn.
If you are staying in Oxford over the summer, there is lots to do in and around the city. We've picked out a selection of activities and events that you might enjoy:
- The University's BIPOC (Black, Indigenous and People of Colour) STEM (Science, technology, engineering, and mathematics) Network hosts The Allies Book Club, which meets every other Tuesday from 12:00-13:00 on Teams
- The Oxford Mindfulness Centre offers daily practice sessions every weekday at 7pm for those both new to mindfulness, or keen to support their daily practice
- Oxford Talks will continue to host hybrid events throughout the summer including workshops and seminars
- The summer events marquee in University Parks is available to book until Friday 29 July.
A friendly reminder that all Oxford students get free access to Oxford’s gardens and museums. Here are a selection of events taking place over the summer:
- It's the 400th anniversary celebration at Oxford Botanic Garden with a programme of events running from Friday 15 July to Saturday 30 July.
- There is the Pre-Raphaelite exhibition at the Ashmolean Museum, which opens on Friday 15 July. Free entry for Oxford students
- The Museum of Natural History also has lots of exciting events happening over the summer, for both adults and children
- The Oxford Playhouse is also showing plays and musicals during its summer season.
