Begin your research data planningPlanning how you will manage and describe your research data will help you later on in your project when you come to publish and/or share your work. Consider at an early stage how your research data will be stored and shared and plan for the costs of this.

Bear in mind that University policy requires data to be securely held for as long as it has continuing value and for a minimum period of three years after the completion or publication of the research (or for longer if specified by the research funder or sponsor).
