Your contract with the University

If you have been successful in your application, you will receive a formal offer of a place at the University. If you accept the offer you will enter into a contract with the University. Your offer may be contingent on you meeting certain conditions.

Before accepting your offer you should read the relevant contractual documents set out in the appropriate tab on this page. Depending on the category of student you will be and your course, these will usually include: the appropriate University Terms and Conditions; the University Student Handbook and, in some cases, a Course Information Sheet.

Undergraduates applying through UCAS

Undergraduates need to read:

  1. the University Terms and Conditions for matriculated students
  2. the University Student Handbook
  3. the appropriate Course Information Sheet for your course and year of entry

And, if you applied for an undergraduate degree with a Foundation Year at Oxford, you also need to read:

The Foundation Year Terms and Conditions - these apply, during your Foundation Year, as well as the University Terms and Conditions for matriculated students.

By accepting your offer you confirm your agreement to these documents.

Graduate and other students

For other students, you will be told which documents you need to read in your offer letter or during the application process. By accepting your offer you confirm your agreement to these documents.

Please note that the process is different if you are a student on an open access course in Continuing Education, in which case you will enter a contract with the University when you pay your fees.

Select the tab above that relates to your academic year of entry to view the documents that apply to you.
