About the college
Lincoln College has long been known for its strong commitment to graduate study and offers excellent facilities and accommodation for its graduate students.
Lincoln College was the first Oxford college to establish a middle common room (MCR). Graduates now form half of the total student body of the college and their strength in numbers ensures a lively and sociable community.
The college is proud of the diversity of its MCR; over 40 per cent of its members are from countries outside the UK/EU and a wide range of subject areas and types of degrees are represented. Graduates participate in the various academic, sporting, musical and dramatic activities organised in college.
Each graduate is assigned a college tutor to act as their advisor. Graduates and fellows are also encouraged to meet informally at regular events where students and tutors give presentations on research in progress, at seminars and debates, at advisors’ lunches, and at High Table.
Lincoln College offers a wide range of generous graduate scholarships, and there is financial support in the form of the Graduate Research Fund and additional funding for college activities.

Library and IT services
The college library, housed in a splendidly-converted 18th-Century church, has a comprehensive law collection and an important collection of rare books in the Senior Library.
Wi-Fi access is available across the college. Wired network points are available in all student bedrooms.
There are also two dedicated graduate computing rooms.
Sport, music and college facilities
The college has an excellent choir and the competitive choral scholarships are open to graduate as well as undergraduate students. There are lively drama and music groups, supported by a performance room with grand piano, and an annual arts Festival, co-organised with Jesus and Exeter Colleges. Music practice rooms are available.
The college has a sports pavilion, playing fields, cricket pitch, squash and tennis courts, and student-run teams are available in many sports. Rowing is especially popular and the college boathouse on the Thames has dedicated ergo gym facilities for rowers. All students of the college are currently offered free membership of the University gym and swimming pool.
Facilities for disabled students
The college has four study-bedrooms adapted for disabled students; special dietary needs can usually be accommodated in the college's dining hall. The hall, bar and Middle Common Room (MCR) are wheelchair-accessible. Please contact the college about any accessibility requirements.
Welfare
The Welfare Coordinator is always happy to talk to graduate students about any issue, and works with the MCR Welfare Officer to ensure that students are supported. Lincoln also has an onsite Counsellor one day a week, and a nurse four days a week.
MCR
Lincoln was the first college in Oxford to provide a Middle Common Room (MCR) which is located in the heart of the college in the Berrow Foundation Building. It has daily newspapers, TV, DVD player, games console and refreshments. It is a popular meeting place, especially after meals. Partners of graduate students are very welcome to become associate members of the MCR.
Graduates elect their own officers to run the MCR and represent the graduate interest on college committees. The MCR Social Team organises a very full programme of events and activities each term, with the result that Lincoln is widely reputed as having a particularly lively MCR.
Accommodation and meals
Accommodation
Lincoln can usually offer single-person accommodation to the majority of its first-year graduate students and is able to house a significant proportion of continuing students. The college does not at present have accommodation suitable for couples or families.
Lincoln College has a number of rooms for MCR members, arranged in three complexes of dedicated graduate accommodation in the city centre.
Many rooms have en-suite bathrooms and self-catering facilities are available in all graduate accommodation. Some of this accommodation is available for a letting period covering the three terms of the academic year (37 weeks) with the option to extend into the summer vacation.
Meals
High-quality lunches and dinners are available in the college's dining hall throughout the year, and light meals are available in the atmospheric cellar bar ('Deep Hall') during term time. A termly kitchen charge is payable which can be used as credit against meals in the college's dining hall and bar. Halal and kosher meal options are available.
