The Queen's College

About the college

The Queen’s College is a close-knit, friendly college located on the High Street in central Oxford. We are able to offer accommodation to undergraduates for all years of their degree, and we boast one of the most beautiful and well-stocked libraries among Oxford colleges.

The college was founded in 1341 and has historic links with the North West of England. Today, Queen’s is proud to have a warm and welcoming community that fosters a spirit of creative exploration and collaboration.

Students at The Queen's College

As a place to live, study and socialise, Queen’s is a beautiful mix of old and new. Students make good use of the spacious library, which is open 24/7 and includes the stunning 17th-century Upper Library and the state-of-the-art New Library.

The College also has a strong tradition in music, sport and drama, so when students are looking for a break from work there are plenty of extra-curricular and social activities on offer. During the daily JCR (Junior Common Room) tea, friendships from across both year and subject groups are formed, as students come together to enjoy tea, cake, and a catch-up.

Our students are passionate about their chosen subjects and are extremely well-supported in their academic pursuits by both their tutors and their peers, as well as through the many funding opportunities the College can offer.
