Admissions tests
Tests form one part of Oxford's admissions process and are used alongside a range of information to help assess candidate’s academic potential and suitability for many of our courses. All admissions tests will be online, delivered in partnership with Pearson VUE via its established network of test centres.
Candidates must register themselves free of charge with Pearson VUE test centres between 15 August and 4 October.
Using the search function on this page, first find out if the course you are applying for requires you to take an admissions test. Individual test pages give full guidance on registering for, booking and preparing to take your test.

When registering, candidates will be able to request the access arrangements which are normally available to them for public examinations taken in their schools and colleges. All requests need to be accompanied by supporting documentation for review and acceptance by Oxford.
We strongly recommend that candidates register for and book their test as soon as possible. This is particularly important if you are requesting access arrangements which involves additional steps and may take longer to organise.
It is not necessary to have started or submitted your UCAS application when you book your Oxford admissions test. You will be asked for your UCAS ID but you can leave this section blank for now. However, you must return to your Oxford admissions test user account and add this as soon as possible or we may not be able to match your test registration with your application to Oxford. If we can't match these after our UCAS deadline of 15 October, your test booking will be cancelled. Only Oxford applicants can take Oxford admissions tests.
In place of the BMAT, in 2024, Oxford will use the Pearson VUE UCAT (University Clinical Aptitude Test) for Medicine and Graduate Entry Medicine with arrangements and charges as advertised by Pearson VUE.
As in other years, candidates for Law will take the Pearson VUE LNAT, with arrangements and charges as advertised by Pearson VUE.
