Oliver Farnan
About
Oliver Farnan is a security and privacy researcher at the Oxford Cyber Security Centre and is interested in real world security issues. His previous work covers anonymity, privacy and censorship on the internet, as well as approaches to best assess network security. He is currently looking at these in the context of the internet as a complex system.
His current research focuses on the observing and analysing internet anomalies such as the Great Firewall of China.
Before returning to academia to read for a doctorate, Oliver was a penetration tester and security consultant. He has tested, audited or advised for many FTSE 100 companies, including those in the banking and finance, energy and oil, and the defence and intelligence sectors.
