Oxford boat wins Women's Boat Race by four lengths
Oxford beat Cambridge by four lengths to win the 2014 Women’s Boat Race.
The Dark Blues eased to victory over the two kilometre course at Henley-on-Thames in a time of five minutes and 50 seconds.
From next year, the women’s race will be held on the same day as the men’s race, on the same four-and-a-half mile course between Putney and Mortlake on the River Thames.
The first Women’s Boat Race took place in 1927, becoming an annual event in the mid 1960s.
The men’s competition will take place next Sunday 6 April.
