Professor Craig MacLean

Associate Professor and Royal Society University Research Fellow in Biology; Fellow of Merton College

About

Dr MacLean studies the evolutionary biology of antibiotic resistance in bacterial pathogens in order to understand the fundamental evolutionary processes that drive the spread and maintenance of antibiotic resistance.

He also uses yeast to study the molecular basis of social interactions. His research with yeast has focused on understanding how kin selection and biochemical constraints can maintain cooperation in the face of exploitation by cheats.
