Come and see this unique pop-up display of Ashmolean prints and drawings – on show for one-day only – to mark International Day of Peace ('Peace Day') on 21 September 2024.

Showcasing artworks from the Ashmolean's extraordinarily rich collections housed in the Western Art Print Room, the display will explore the theme of 'Local to Global', as part of this year's Art History Festival.

From scenes of domestic mayhem to familial harmony, from fierce battles to celebrations of peace in Britain and abroad, these selected artworks will be in a range of media, schools and styles. Artists such as Samuel Palmer, J.M.W. Turner, William Nicholson and Julia Margaret Cameron will be included.

Viewed in the tranquil setting of the Print Room, these images will provoke thoughts on global conflict and inner peace.

Choose from one of two 45-minute viewing sessions: 2.15pm or 3.15pm.

Tickets are free but booking is essential.
