Members' Coin Handling Session: Hellenistic Coins

This talk and handling session explores how, in the Early Hellenistic period, Greek coins began to display images of rulers rather than of traditional gods. Since then, ruler portraits have been a constant feature of coin design – all the way to the image of King Charles III on our current British coins.
