How the greatest scientists' ideas were lost and found across the Ancient Classical world.
An exclusive talk for Members of the Ashmolean with Violet Moller, historian and author.

Are you interested in how science has evolved through the ages of antiquity?

Revel in the richness of our scientific heritage and join Violet Moller, one of our leading historians, as she explores the journey of the ideas of three of the greatest thinkers of antiquity - Euclid, Galen and Ptolemy - through seven cities and 1,000 years.

Violet’s talk is based around her book, The Map of Knowledge, described as 'an epic treasure hunt' by the poet and playwright John Agard.

The book will be available at a Members' discounted price at the event.

For those attending in person, the talk is in the Museum's Headley Lecture Theatre, where tea, coffee and cake will be served from 3pm.

The online event is via Zoom.
