In his lecture Dr Malcolm Rogers will discuss Sargent’s most important portraits of sisters, contrasting the enigmatic 'Daughters of Edward Darley Boit' (Museum of Fine Arts, Boston) with the luxurious 'Wyndham Sisters' (Metropolitan Museum, New York), and featuring 'Carnation, Lily, Lily, Rose', painted in Broadway, Worcestershire. He will use contemporary press reviews, letters and diaries, spiced with the occasional scandal, to bring the portraits and their sitters alive.

This event will be recorded and the recording will be shared with ticketholders following the event.
